Method of preparation :
start with the preparation of the meatballs. In 2 tablespoons of olive oil fry the onion for 3-4 minutes, add the garlic. After a minute, remove from the heat and allow the vegetables to cool.
Mix the bread crumbs and milk and let them absorb the liquid for 5 minutes. Add the chilled onions and other products, then knead the minced meat. Form small meatballs the size of a walnut.
Arrange them in a baking tray lined with parchment paper and leave them for 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
Heat the remaining 2 tablespoons of olive oil and fry the meatballs for 4-5 minutes until browned. Take them out in a pan.
Preheat the oven to 220 degrees, during which time prepare the sauce.
Fry the onion in olive oil until soft, add the garlic, and after releasing its aroma, add the tomato paste and cook for 30 seconds, stirring constantly. Add the tomato sauce, thyme, broth and beans, bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the temperature. Stew for 8-10 minutes.
Drizzle the tomato sauce over the meatballs and sprinkle with the mozzarella.
Bake for 10 minutes until the mozzarella melts and forms an appetizing golden crust. Sprinkle with basil when serving, add garlic bread, if desired.
