How To Cook Roasted Tomato Sauce With Garlic And Basil - Recipe

Required products :

2 kg of tomatoes (small to medium in size)
3-4 sprigs of basil
1 clove garlic
salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
olive oil optional

 

Method of preparation :

Wash the tomatoes, cut them in half. Peel the garlic and cut into circles.


Cover the bottom with parchment in a suitable form, smear the paper with olive oil and arrange the tomatoes on it with the cuts down. Sprinkle with pieces of garlic and basil leaves. Add salt and ground black pepper to taste, sprinkle with olive oil.


Bake the tomatoes in a preheated 180-200 degree oven for 15-20 minutes.


When ready, leave to cool and beat everything with a blender until smooth.


The sauce is stored in the refrigerator for no more than a week.

 

If you decide to preserve it for the winter, pasteurize for 10-15 minutes, distribute in jars, then close with lids and store in a dark and cool place.
