Wash the tomatoes, cut them in half, arrange them in a tray with the cut side down and bake them until their surface darkens. Transfer them to a saucepan and sauté in your own sauce, stirring constantly until soft. Then beat with a mixer and pour into a deep bowl.
Heat olive oil in a saucepan, fry the chopped onion and half of the grated garlic. Pour the broth, add the tomatoes, the remaining garlic and cook everything for about 10 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
Serve the finished soup with basil pesto sauce (1 teaspoon of sauce per 1 serving of soup).
