  • 2 1/2 teaspoons fennel seeds
  • 3 teaspoons paprika
  • salt and pepper to taste

For the sauce :

  • 700 grams of tomato puree / or canned tomatoes /
  • 2 cloves garlic, pressed

  • Bake in a preheated 180 degree oven for about 30 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, prepare the sauce by sautéing the onion and garlic in olive oil for about 3 minutes. Add the remaining ingredients and simmer for 5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Remove the pan from the oven and carefully transfer the roll to the pan with the tomato sauce (or to another pan if the pan is not suitable for the oven).
  • Return them together in the oven and bake for another 30-40 minutes or as desired.
  • Let the minced meat roll rest for 5 minutes before cutting.
  • Serve with sauce and sprinkle with Parmesan / or yellow cheese if desired /.
  • Serve with mashed potatoes.

Enjoy your meal!
