How To Cook Roll With Raisins And Cinnamon - Recipe

Required products :

For the roll :

  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup fresh milk
  • 4 tablespoons butter, unsalted
  • 1/4 teaspoon sugar
  • 4 teaspoons flour, sifted
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 1 packet of dry yeast
  • 3/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 pinch of allspice
  • 1 pinch of freshly grated nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon orange peel, finely grated
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg yolk, beaten with a little water / for spreading /

About the filling :

  • 4 tablespoons softened butter, unsalted
  • 2/3 tea cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon

For the glaze / optional / :

  • 1/2 teaspoon powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon fresh milk

Method of preparation :

  • In a small saucepan, melt the butter over low heat.
  • Add the milk and granulated sugar and heat to no more than 50 degrees. Stir well.
  • Pour the mixture into a deep bowl and add the yeast. Let it stand for about 10 minutes.
  • In another bowl, mix the flour, cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg and salt.
  • Add them to the yeast mixture, along with the eggs, raisins and grated orange peel.

 

  • Stir with a mixer on medium speed for about 10 minutes. Use the dough mixers.
  • Form the dough into a ball and cover the bowl with nylon. Leave it to rise until it doubles in size (about 1.5 hours).
  • Meanwhile, prepare the filling by mixing the softened butter, brown sugar and cinnamon.
  • When the dough rises, divide it into 2 equal parts and roll each of them in the form of a square on a floured surface.

 

  • Spread half of the filling on one square and roll it. Repeat with the other half of the dough.
  • Place the rolls in a greased pan, leaving the curled end at the bottom.
  • Leave them to rise for about an hour.
  • Coat the rolls with beaten egg yolk and bake in the middle of the oven at 180 degrees.
  • Bake until golden brown and allow to cool.
  • To make the glaze, mix the powdered sugar, milk and vanilla in a small bowl and mix well.
  • Glaze the rolls after they have cooled completely.
  • Cut into thicker slices and serve.

Note!

If desired, you could also add walnuts.
