Required products :

  • 2 1/2 teaspoons flour (self-swelling)
  • 1 tablespoon mustard powder
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 100 grams of cold butter
  • 2/3 tea cup grated umbrella
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 broken egg
  • 1 teaspoon poppy seeds

Method of preparation :

Preheat oven to 200 degrees and line with baking paper two shallow large pans.

Put the flour, mustard, sugar and butter in a food processor and make small crumbs with a few pulsations. Add the yellow cheese and buttermilk. Then combine again with a few pulsations, if necessary, add a little more liquid.

Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 30 seconds and divide into 12 balls.

Spread each on a wick about 40 centimeters long. Fold both ends of the wick towards the center and intertwine.

Brush with egg and sprinkle with poppy seeds. Bake for 10 minutes, and once completely cooled in the pans, transfer the snails to a tightly closed box and store at room temperature.
