How To Cook Sandwich With Caramelized Onions And Yellow Cheese - Recipe

Learn how to cook "Sandwich with caramelized onions and yellow cheese". Delicious recipe.

Required products :

  • 2 onions, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter + more to spread on bread
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • a pinch of black pepper
  • 8 thin slices of yellow cheese, Gruyere cheese, cheddar or other optional
  • 8 slices of bread

Method of preparation :

Put onion, olive oil and 1 tablespoon of oil in a pan. Stew, stirring occasionally, until the onions begin to brown.

Reduce heat and continue frying for another 15-20 minutes until onion is caramelized and acquires a dark color.

Sprinkle with sugar, salt and pepper, 2-3 minutes later remove from heat.

Cool the mixture completely (if you want to store, you can store covered onions in the freezer for up to 3 months, and when you decide to use it, thaw overnight in the refrigerator).

Make sandwiches by placing a piece of yellow cheese on each slice. Spread the caramelized onions over half and close. This way you will get a sandwich that will have two slices of yellow cheese and caramelized onions between them.

Spread the slices on the outside and bake them in a pan or on the grill until the loaves are toasted and the yellow cheese is spread.

Serve them as soon as possible so you can enjoy the sandwich to the fullest.
