Necessary products:

  • 500 g of minced meat
  • cabbage leaves (from sauerkraut)
  • 200 g grated carrots
  • 1 large onion (maybe less if you don't like it)
  • 1 tsp rice
  • 1-2 tomatoes
  • 1-2 peppers
  • tomato juice
  • salt and spices to taste

Method of preparation:

Chop onions, grate carrots (or chop finely) and stew in oil. Pour boiling water over the rice and let it stand for 1-2 hours. Mix the prepared products, minced meat, add salt, spices and mix everything well.

In each of the cabbage leaves put the stuffing and shape the sarma in the standard way. Arrange them in a pan with oil and fry on all sides. Then pour tomato juice (to cover the sarma). Cut 1-2 tomatoes and 1-2 peppers, put them in a saucepan, you can add onions if desired. Close the pan with a lid and stew until the rice is ready.
