How To Cook Stew Meatballs With Potatoes (Chirpan Meatballs) - Recipe

Required products :

  • 500 grams of minced meat (mixture)
  • 3 onions
  • 100 grams of rice
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 7-8 large potatoes
  • 2 carrots
  • 1 pepper (sweet)
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • salt, bay leaf, black pepper
  • oil

 

Method of preparation :

Heat oil in a saucepan and fry one onion, carrot and pepper (finely chopped) in it. Add the tomato puree, fry for a few more minutes, then pour in the water and place the potatoes (peeled and sliced).

Season with black pepper, add salt and wait for the liquid to boil. Meanwhile, make the meatballs.

Grate the remaining two onions and garlic. If you have more time, soak the rice in hot water for half an hour.

Mix the garlic, onion and rice with the minced meat and knead. Form round meatballs.

When the water boils, put them in a saucepan, season to taste and cook until the potatoes and rice are ready.
