How To Cook Stewed Hake With Potatoes, Peas And White Wine - Recipe

Required products :

  • 750 grams of hake fillet
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 5 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon sweet red pepper
  • 130 milliliters of dry white wine
  • 1 large onion
  • 500 grams of fresh potatoes (maybe old)
  • 200 grams of peas (if using frozen, defrost it beforehand)
  • sea ​​salt
  • pepper

Method of preparation :

Peel the potatoes and cut them in four. Peel an onion and cut it thinly. Check the fillet for fine bones and clean if necessary with tweezers. Then cut it into pieces about 5 cm in size and leave for the moment.

Cut 2 cloves of garlic into thin slices and fry them until lightly golden in 3 tablespoons of olive oil.

Remove the pan from the heat and when it cools down a bit, add the red pepper, pour in the wine and leave for a while.

Cut the remaining garlic cloves into four, put them in a fireproof dish in which you will stew the dish. Add onions, potatoes and remaining olive oil. Pour enough wine and spices to cover the products. Season with salt and pepper and let everything boil for 10 minutes.

Then add the fish and peas, reduce the heat and stew for 5 - 10 minutes or as needed to fully cook the potatoes and hake.

Try and, if necessary, add more salt and pepper.

All you have to do is serve.
