Learn how to cook "Stuffed peppers with potatoes, smoked sausage and yellow cheese in tomato sauce". Delicious recipe.

Required products :

  • 4 medium-sized sweet peppers for stuffing

For the stuffing:

  • 500-600 grams of potatoes
  • 150 grams of smoked sausage or ham
  • onion head
  • spices to taste
  • frying fat
  • 100 grams of yellow cheese for sprinkling

For the sauce:

  • 500 grams of tomatoes (fresh or canned)
  • onion head
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • salt and other spices to taste

Method of preparation :

Cut the peppers in half lengthwise, remove the seeds and salt on the inside.

Cut the onion into cubes and the sausage / ham into small pieces. Fry the onion first, then add the sausage to it and cook together for a few more minutes (do not fry).

Boil the potatoes, peel them and mash until smooth (save the broth). Mix it with onion and sausage, stir and pour a little potato decoction so that the combination is not too dry.

Season to taste and start making the sauce.

Peel an onion, chop finely and fry. Add the tomatoes whose skins have previously been removed (unless you use peeled canned tomatoes) and puree the flesh.

Add a tablespoon of sugar, salt and other spices of your choice. Bring the sauce to a boil, then transfer to a pan to cover the bottom.

Arrange the halves of the peppers in it and fill them with the potato mixture.

Cover the dish with a sheet of aluminum foil and bake in the oven at 180 degrees. The time depends on the thickness of the peppers, it can vary from 30 to 50 minutes.

When the dish is ready, sprinkle with finely grated cheese and return to the oven until the coating is red (7-10 minutes).

Have a good time!
