Required products :

1/4 teaspoon roasted walnuts (can peanuts)
2 tablespoons maple syrup
2 tablespoons sugar
2 teaspoons liquid cream
1 tablespoon butter
1/2 teaspoon molasses
pinch of salt
1/2 egg yolk
1 teaspoon cornstarch
2 slices black bread, one of which should be greased with butter

 

Method of preparation :

In a suitable bowl, mix the sugar, maple syrup, cream and molasses. Heat for about 3 minutes until the sugar has melted. Then turn off the stove and leave the mixture on it for 5 minutes.

Beat half the yolk with 1 tablespoon butter and a pinch of salt.

Dissolve the starch in a little water and add it to the resulting syrup to thicken.

When this happens, put the walnuts in the sweet liquid. Spread the appetizing filling in the middle of the buttered slice of bread, cover with the second, which cover with a layer of butter and the yolk. Press and align the edges.

Place the sandwich in a suitable metal toaster tin or grill.
