Chestnuts can be eaten not only cold but also hot. Made in this way of puree, they are like jam, which you can use as an addition to various pasta - pancakes or fried slices, for example.

Required products :

  • 750 grams of chestnuts
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 3/4 teaspoon water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Method of preparation :

Turn the oven to 200 degrees.

Make a cross on the underside of each chestnut. Put them in a pan and bake them until they start to brown - about 15-20 minutes. Stir every 10 minutes.

Remove from the oven and allow to cool for 5 minutes. Peel the chestnuts and let them cool completely.

Put the peeled chestnuts, sugar and water in the pan. Boil for 25-35 minutes until most of the liquid has evaporated.

Remove from the heat and stir in the vanilla.

Strain, keeping the syrup. Blend the chestnuts until smooth, adding a little of the syrup if needed to make a smooth puree.

Cool before refrigerating.
