Necessary products:

  • 1 teaspoon warm milk
  • 80 grams of melted butter
  • 4 - 5 tablespoons of sugar (maybe more or less - to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 kg of flour
  • 1 tablespoon dry yeast
  • 1 egg

Method of preparation:

Mix the sifted flour with the yeast, add the salt, sugar, milk, butter and lightly beaten egg. Knead a homogeneous dough. If you feel dry, pour some more warm milk. Cover the bowl with a damp cloth and leave in a warm place for 1 hour to rise the dough. When it increases in volume, knead a second time for 5 minutes and leave to rise again. Then divide it into 12 - 16 balls. Here you can already show imagination: form rolls or roll each ball and put stuffing of your choice in it, then join the ends and form a loaf.

Stuffing idea: 250 grams of cottage cheese, 4 tablespoons of sugar, raisins and lemon peel.

Arrange the loaves in a tray and leave them in a suitably warm place for half an hour. When they increase in volume, spread them with an egg beaten with 1 teaspoon of water, sprinkle with sugar crystals and bake at 180 - 200 degrees for 20 - 30 minutes.
