Do you like walnut cakes? Prepare the ones with pecans (you can easily replace them with ordinary walnuts) and bring coziness to your home!

Required products :

  • 3 cups pecans (halves)
  • 1 teaspoon butter at room temperature (120 grams)
  • 1/2 teaspoon crystal sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 1/4 tea cups flour (level the cups flour to keep the right amount)
  • 1/2 teaspoon brown sugar

Method of preparation :

Turn on the oven to preheat to 175 degrees and line two large baking trays with parchment paper.

Sprinkle 2 cups of walnuts in one pan and bake for 7-8 minutes until they release their aroma. Cool and chop finely.

Beat the butter with the white sugar, vanilla and salt. Stir at high speed of the mixer when the mixture becomes light and fluffy. After 1-2 minutes, reduce the speed and add the chopped walnuts and flour. Stir and cool the dough under foil for a minimum of 1 hour and a maximum of 24 hours.

Put the brown sugar in a bowl. Make 36 balls of the dough and roll them in brown sugar. Arrange them in trays at a distance from each other. Place half a nut on each ball, pressing it to stick to the dough. Bake for 15-17 minutes, until the sweets are slightly browned.

Cool for 5 minutes in the pan, then carefully remove from the paper and cool completely before consuming.

You can store them in a tightly closed metal box or jam jar.
