How To Cook Swiss Beet Sarmi With Raisins, Chickpeas And Vegetables - Recipe

Necessary products:

 

  • 10-20 pieces of Swiss beet leaves
  • 1 head of old onion, finely chopped
  • 1 grated carrot
  • 50 grams of dark raisins
  • 200 grams of canned chickpeas
  • 1 leaf of fresh basil
  • 1 stalk fresh parsley
  • olive oil for frying
  • 1 grated ginger root
  • 50 grams of canned corn
  • salt and pepper

 

Method of preparation:

Blanch the leaves in salted hot water and strain and dry them. Heat olive oil in a pan and fry onions, carrots and ginger.

Add the raisins, chickpeas, corn and season with chopped basil and parsley. Season with salt, pepper, pour half a cup of water and stir. Cook until the liquid is reduced and cool. Take the leaves, put a tablespoon of the mixture in each and wrap the sarma.

Do the rest in the same way and arrange in a greased pan. Cover with a sheet of aluminum foil, preheat the oven to 200 degrees and bake for 20 minutes.

Serve the dish warm.
