Necessary products

For the dough:

2 eggs + 1 yolk
4 tablespoons oil
4 tablespoons orange juice
4 teaspoons grated orange peel
50 grams sugar
1 packet baking powder
350 grams flour

For syrup:

500 milliliters of water
2 tablespoons lemon juice
350 grams of sugar
4 tablespoons of orange juice
60 grams of honey
2 tablespoons grated orange peel

Method of preparation :

Beat the two eggs until smooth, together with the yolk, oil, orange juice and grated peel, add the sugar. Gradually add the sifted flour together with the baking powder to this mixture. The dough should be separated from the spoon. If necessary, use a little more flour.
Cover the dough with a towel and leave it for 30 minutes.

 

Meanwhile, make the syrup.
Pour the water into a suitable container, bring to the boil and add the lemon juice and sugar. Stir until the sweet crystals are completely dissolved.
Boil the syrup until a drop of it turns into a small ball, putting it in ice water. Once you achieve this effect, reduce the heat and gradually add the orange juice and peel, honey.
Simmer the syrup for 5 minutes, then remove from the heat.

 

Sprinkle your palms with flour and shape the dough into a ball. Divide it into 20 equal parts, from which make balls, flatten them, and in the middle of each make a hole with your finger. Fry in hot oil until golden.

 

Remove the finished donuts on paper to absorb excess fat.

 

While still warm, pierce with a fork in several places and put in the warm syrup.

 

Once they absorb enough of it, you can enjoy their taste and aroma.
