Required products :

  • 225 grams of flour
  • 1 tablespoon powdered sugar
  • 110 grams of cold butter, chopped
  • 1 egg yolk mixed with 1 tablespoon of water

for the filling:

  • 75 grams of butter
  • 100 grams of golden syrup
  • 225 grams of cornflakes
  • 125 grams of strawberry jam

Method of preparation :

For marshmallows, rub the cold butter into the flour to make crumbs. Add powdered sugar and a pinch of salt. Put the egg and form a hard dough. If necessary, add another 1 tablespoon of water to allow the components to stick together. Cool for 30 minutes, wrapped in foil.

Roll out the dough in a circle with a diameter of 30 cm on a floured surface. Take a tart tray with a diameter of 23 centimeters and spread the dough on the bottom and walls. Cut off the excess and pierce the marsh with a fork. Freeze for 20 minutes.

Put a sheet of foil on the marsh and pour beans or rice on top. Bake the marshmallows with the beans for about 15-20 minutes at 180 degrees. Remove the foil and bake the marshmallows until golden, for another 8-10 minutes. Remove from the oven and reduce the temperature to 160 degrees.

Melt the butter and gold syrup in a saucepan until combined.

Put the cornflakes in a bowl and pour the warm syrup, mix well, but be careful not to break the cornflakes too much.

Spread the marshmallows with the strawberry jam and cover with the flavored cornflakes. Bake for 10-15 minutes until the cake is golden.

Allow to cool for 10-15 minutes, then serve.
