This healthy turkey pie is just as delicious with chicken.

Necessary products:

  • 3 teaspoons olive oil
  • 1 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup carrots, cut into cubes
  • 1/2 cup celery, cut into cubes
  • 220 grams of fresh mushrooms, cut into quarters
  • 1 tablespoon garlic, chopped
  • 2 teaspoons fresh sage, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme, finely chopped
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 4 cups boiled turkey breast, sliced ​​or grated
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 frozen or thawed wholemeal pie crust

Method of preparation:

Preheat oven to 180 degrees. Grease a pie pan.

Heat 1 teaspoon of olive oil in a large non-stick pan over medium heat and fry the onions, carrots and celery until soft and lightly browned. Then transfer them to a bowl.

Heat the remaining 2 teaspoons of olive oil in a deep frying pan or saucepan over medium heat and fry the mushrooms, stirring often, until browned and soft. Then add the garlic, sage and thyme and cook, stirring constantly for about 1 minute.

Pour back the fried onion mixture into the pan. Stir the chicken broth and cornstarch into a glass until smooth and pour into the pan with the vegetables. Bring to the boil, stirring occasionally. Add the turkey, peas, sour cream and season with pepper and salt to taste. Bring to a boil for a few minutes, then remove from the heat.

Transfer the turkey mixture to a greased pan and place the pie crust on top of the mixture. Make several incisions in the center of the crust. Bake in the oven until golden for about 45 minutes, then let stand for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
