Necessary products

For the dough:

500 grams of flour

1 tbsp baking powder

50 grams of butter

1 cup fresh milk

1 egg

left

flour for sprinkling on the hob when grinding

1 egg for spreading

For syrup:

1 cup sugar

1 cup water

saffron

peel and juice of 1 lemon - optional

For the stuffing:

300 grams of granulated sugar

300 grams of ground walnuts

250-300 grams of butter (not completely melted, but with a creamy consistency)

Method of preparation:

Knead a soft dough from the above products for it. Divide it into about 25 parts. Roll out a thin circle from each of them. Grease with butter, sprinkle with walnuts and sugar. Take a pencil or a Chinese chopstick, place it at one end of the circle and roll it up, pressing the ends with your fingers to make an "accordion". You can now remove the stick or pencil.

Arrange the rolls in a greased pan, grease them with egg and put in the oven at 200 degrees for 20 minutes. Then remove, grease the baklava with melted butter (about 50 grams) and return to the oven for another 50 minutes, already at a temperature of 180 degrees. Bake until you get a beautiful golden color.

While the baklava is still hot, pour in the syrup (also keep it hot) and let it soak for 2-3 hours.

You can now enjoy the great taste.
