We offer you two options for the preparation of the popular coconut ice candies, which you can prepare quickly and effortlessly, and the products are easy to find and affordable. The first option includes condensed milk, and in the second all animal products are avoided, so it is suitable for people who do not consume dairy products. Whichever you choose, you will be satisfied.

First option

Required products :

  • 2 teaspoons powdered sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon cream tartar
  • 1 can of 400 grams of condensed milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 1/2 teaspoons coconut shavings
  • liquid (or gel) food coloring - red

Method of preparation :

Grease a square pan with grease of your choice and line with kitchen paper.

Combine sugar and tartar cream with condensed milk and vanilla. Add the coconut shavings and knead by hand until a homogeneous mixture is obtained. Divide into two equal parts and color one pink with food coloring, stirring well to color the coconut shavings.

Pour the pink mixture into the pan and flatten with a knife or spatula. Place the white one on top, pressing again so that the excess air comes out and the surface becomes flat.

Refrigerate for 2 hours, then cut into squares and serve.

Second option:

Required products :

  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 2/3 tea cup of water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/3 tea cup coconut shavings
  • food coloring

Method of preparation :

Prepare in the same way a square pan, but let it be smaller - about 12-14 centimeters.

Put water and sugar in a saucepan and prepare syrup - when it reaches 120 degrees, it is ready. Another way to check is by dripping the syrup into ice-cold water, if a hard ball forms quickly, it's time to remove from the heat.

Add the coconut and vanilla to the syrup and stir for about 5-10 minutes until the mixture thickens. Color half.

Put the white layer in the tray first, level it, and spread the pink one on top. Press well again to let the air out. Cool and cut into squares.
