How To Cook Veal Meatballs With Parsley In Tomato Sauce - Recipe

Necessary products / for 6 portions / :

For the meatballs :

  • 800 grams of minced beef
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 bunch fresh parsley, well washed and finely chopped
  • 1/2 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 cube broth, crushed

For the tomato sauce :

  • 1 handful of small onions, peeled
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 400 grams of diced tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste

For the spice mix :

  • 1/2 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon ginger powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon chili powder / optional /

Method of preparation :

 

  • In a large bowl, combine the minced meat, chopped onion, 1/2 of the parsley, garlic powder and the crushed cube of broth.
  • Knead briefly and make walnut-sized meatballs.
  • Heat the butter and olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat.
  • Fry the meatballs on all sides and add the whole onions.
  • Stir and cook for about 2 minutes.
  • Add the chopped tomatoes and tomato paste, mix well and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  • Sprinkle with the spice mix and add 1 teaspoon of water. Stir and cover the pan with a lid.
  • Let the dish simmer for about 25-30 minutes, adding the remaining fresh parsley 10 minutes before the end of cooking.
  • Serve the beef meatballs on rice, couscous or bulgur, garnished with tomato sauce and sprinkled with fresh parsley.
