Required products :

  • 2 kilograms of watermelon
  • 4 dessert spoons of liquid honey
  • 2 dessert spoons of sugar
  • 2.5 liters of water
  • 160 milliliters of vinegar (9%)
  • 1 tablespoon salt

Method of preparation :

The watermelon must be ripe and not wilted. Wash it well without removing the bark.

Cut the fruit into not very thick crescent-shaped pieces.

Then cut each into triangles of equal size.

To make it easier for you to arrange the watermelon in jars, cut the corners of each slice, as shown in the next photo. Do not remove the hard part completely.

Arrange the fruit pieces in pre-sterilized jars (it is best to use a small volume so that their contents can be eaten at once after opening) so that there is not too much free space between them.

Pour boiling water, which after 10 minutes drain into a bowl, pour watermelon once more with boiling water and pour it into the bowl with the first dose.

Place the container with the liquid on a hot plate. When the water boils, add the sugar and salt, stir well to dissolve.

Then put the honey in portions, five minutes later pour the vinegar and remove the pan from the heat.

Pour the watermelon in the jars with the hot marinade, close, turn the dishes with the lids down, wrap in a blanket and leave for a day.

Watermelon is ready for winter.

Enjoy your meal!
