Clean the sponges thoroughly, removing any unnecessary parts and dirt.
Then cut into large pieces, because during the heat treatment their size will decrease. Immerse in a bowl of cold water and wash well. Mushrooms should not stay in the water for a long time, because they will absorb it, and excess moisture is not needed in their preparation.
Transfer them to a non-fat pan and place on a hot plate.
Fry sliced onions until golden in a separate bowl.
When the products prepared in this way have cooled down a bit, mix them in the bowl of a blender, add the garlic cloves and grind to the desired consistency. You could puree it or leave larger pieces to feel in the finished pate.
Serve on slices of toast or fresh bread.
