How To Cook Whole Chicken, Baked In Cake Form, With Vegetables - Recipe

Required products :

  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 6 cloves garlic
  • 2 tablespoons salt
  • 1 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 whole chicken
  • 500 grams of small potatoes
  • 4 carrots
  • 2 small heads of red onion
  • 1 fennel
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Method of preparation :

Place a piece of aluminum foil on the hole in the center of the cake tin to seal it.

 

Mix 1 crushed garlic clove with thyme, add half the amount of salt and pepper. Rub the spice mix into the chicken - inside and out.

Cut the carrots into large pieces, leave the potatoes whole, and cut the fennel and onion into crescents. Put them in the cake pan, season with the remaining salt and pepper, pour olive oil and stir, add the remaining 5 cloves of garlic - whole.

 

Place the chicken upright in the center of the cake tin, pressing it as far down as possible. Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes in a preheated 200 degree oven until golden on all sides.
