How To Cook Whole Onions In Sweet And Sour Marinade - Recipe

Learn how to cook "Whole onions in a sweet and sour marinade". Delicious recipe.

Required products :

500 grams of onions (small heads about 4 centimeters in diameter)
500 milliliters of wine vinegar
500 milliliters of balsamic vinegar
3 tablespoons brown sugar
3 tablespoons white granulated sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt

Method of preparation :

In a large bowl with a non-metallic inner coating, mix the two types of vinegar, add white and brown sugar and salt. Put on medium heat, the mixture should boil, stirring to dissolve the sugar. Then add the peeled whole onions and let them cook for 2-3 minutes until soft (check this with a knife).
Leave them for an hour to cool. When this happens, transfer to a non-metallic container together with the marinade (it should cover the onion) and close with a lid. Let stand for a week at room temperature to soften completely and absorb all the flavors and aromas.
You can store in the refrigerator for up to 6 months after cooking.
