How To Cook Wholemeal Soda Bread With Beer And Oatmeal - Recipe

Required products :

  • 150 grams of whole wheat flour
  • 140 grams of plain wheat flour
  • 50 grams of oatmeal
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 375 milliliters of beer (dark or light)

 

Method of preparation :

Turn on the oven to preheat to 200 degrees while kneading the dough. Prepare a cake pan measuring 21x11 cm and a capacity of 1.5 liters.

In a large bowl, mix the two types of flour with the oatmeal and add the leavening agents, salt and sugar. Stir the dry mixture and pour the beer into it. Stir until the dry ingredients are moist.

Transfer the dough to the form and flatten. Make furrows in the middle of the surface.

Bake the bread for 35-40 minutes or until "dry stick". Before removing from the pan, wait 5-10 minutes and then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
