Today, the issue of immunity comes to the fore. Nutrition is not the most important for the health and harmonious functioning of the whole body. After all, you should add more useful products to your diet, which will provide not only energy, but also the necessary vitamins and minerals. Let's find out which sea creatures stand guard against immunity .
There is hope that, having paid attention to their health, people will also pay attention to such a valuable product as seaweed or seaweed. We still have a fairly common stereotype that if a product is inexpensive and always available in large quantities, then it does not deserve special attention. This habit still has Soviet roots, when in times of scarcity it was considered fashionable and prestigious to "get" something. Moreover, the product itself was not necessarily valuable or useful. The main thing is that it was rare, scarce and not available to everyone.
Seaweed is extracted and grown really a lot, some of it is imported from Japan, in any case, this product has quite an affordable price. It makes excellent salads, for example, seaweed in a nut sauce, in a cheese sauce, or with the addition of squid and shrimp.
Many buyers know only one and the most common type of algae - kelp. In fact, there are dozens of types of edible algae : brown, red, and green: spirulina, monostroma, rhodimenia, carrageenan, fucus, lima, kombu, hijiki. They differ in their useful components, for example, fucus is almost identical in composition to human blood plasma. At the same time, all algae are very rich in iodine, which is necessary for immunity , functioning of the thyroid gland and hormonal balance in general.
The key component of seaweed , which is responsible for maintaining immunity , is fucoidan. It is an active polysaccharide that enhances the formation of immune cells that produce antibodies, and also blocks receptors by which viral cells enter host cells. It is not surprising that fucoidan is the basis for many drugs that are produced for the prevention of various viral infections.
The benefit of this product is at least the fact that after the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945, Japanese doctors officially recommended daily consumption of sea urchins and their roe to those affected by radiation. These spiky inhabitants of the seabed are excellent at removing radionuclides and toxins from the body.
The age of sea urchins can reach up to 150 years, and all their long lives echinoderms eat algae and accumulate a huge amount of vitamins and nutrients. For example, sea urchin roe contains the maximum amount of vitamin B12. Its amount is almost 4 times higher than in beef liver, which is traditionally considered rich in this vitamin. In addition, sea urchins are among the top 5 in terms of magnesium and sodium content.
It is not surprising that in Japan, where sea urchins and their caviar are a national dish, the average life expectancy has already crossed the 85-year barrier. Regular consumption of the caviar of these seafood tightens the skin, smooths fine wrinkles, has a good effect on hair and nails, normalizes blood pressure and successfully fights stress. Sea urchin roe contains lecithin, which supports brain function and improves liver function.
There are several hundred species of sea urchins in the world . They are either mined or grown on marine farms, as in Japan or South Korea.
Sea urchin roe costs a little more than high-quality salmon roe, however, despite its expensive image, you can still afford this product from time to time.
