Is It More Expensive To Eat Healthy?

Organic foods promise quality food, but are many times more expensive than the standard products we are used to today.

The shelves of large stores are full of healthy foods, organic meats, exotic fish, off-season fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grain snacks and pasta, as well as low-fat and low-sodium products. With this great variety, at first glance it seems easy to eat a varied and quality food all year round. If we look at the prices of these products, we will see that many people could not afford them. This begs the question: Can we afford to eat healthily?

 

The fact is that organic and organic foods are more expensive than mass brands. Studies show that there is no clear evidence that organic products have many more advantages over standard foods.   • Buy frozen fruits and vegetables at sales. They are just as useful as fresh foods;
  • If canned low-sodium vegetables are too expensive, take a standard product and rinse the vegetables well before cooking;
  • Reduce meat consumption. Eating less meat not only saves money, but also improves your health, lowers cholesterol, blood pressure, etc .;
  • Avoid frozen and dehydrated meats . They are usually expensive and high in sodium, with minimal fiber and other valuable nutrients;
  • Cook more at home , so you will have control over the prepared food and it will be cheaper than ready-made food.

As it turned out, we don't have to spend a lot of money to eat healthily. Choose food wisely and cook more at home.
