Therefore, foods that are rich in antioxidants, omega-3 fatty acids, vitamins, catechins, selenium, etc. should be consumed. When combined, these nutrients detoxify the liver and help with serious liver disease.
One of the most beneficial foods for the liver are lemons. They are rich in vitamin C, an antioxidant that can prevent oxidative damage to the liver. Nutritionists even recommend daily consumption of lemon for best results.
Avocado is a food that is very good for the liver. It contains an antioxidant known as glutathione , which is responsible for removing toxic substances that destroy all healthy cells in the liver. Nutritionists claim that the liver can be kept healthy if avocados are consumed regularly.
Free radicals can affect the condition of the liver. Therefore, foods that can fight free radicals should be included. Such is, for example, turmeric. The spice not only prevents liver damage from free radicals, but also helps break down fats . Therefore, it is considered a natural detoxifier of the liver.
Another very useful food for the liver is lentils. Nutritionists recommend lentils to clear toxins from the liver. It is high in fiber and plant proteins that improve liver function.
Last but not least are green leafy vegetables. It is recommended that they be consumed daily as they protect the liver from toxins, chemicals and metals. Nutritionists claim that leafy vegetables support liver function because they are loaded with chlorophyll .
To keep the liver healthy, foods such as fish , olive oil, green tea, garlic, Brazil nuts, broccoli, beets and apples can also be consumed regularly .
