Pomegranate juice helps with kidney disease, Israeli scientists have found. Its properties are due to the high content of polyphenols with antioxidant effect in it.

The team's study was based on monitoring 101 dialysis patients. The researchers found that when drinking half a cup of pomegranate juice three times a week for a year, patients were less likely to need a dialysis machine. According to doctors, the polyphenols contained in pomegranate are strong antioxidants that eliminate and prevent the accumulation of free radicals formed during metabolic processes in the body. When these molecules are reduced in the blood, their negative impact on the tissues is reduced, which is related to the inflammation of the tissues. The Israeli team indicates that the juice protects against complications in patients with kidney disease on dialysis. The data from the study show that 40% fewer infections were observed on the first visit to the hospital and 80% on the second.

Experts note that pomegranate juice is rich in potassium, which is why they need to balance their diet.

Pomegranate juice also contains magnesium, phosphorus, calcium, sodium, iron, as well as aluminum, silicon, chromium, nickel, copper and vitamins C, B6, B12 and E.

Pomegranate is believed to have a choleretic, analgesic and tonic effect. Stimulates appetite. It has a beneficial effect on hematopoiesis, lowers blood pressure and cholesterol. Recently, American scientists have proven that regular consumption of exotic fruit juice helps with erectile dysfunction and reduces the risk of prostate and skin cancer.
