Popular Brand - Advertising Or Quality.

The price of the product depends on many factors: manufacturer, quality, brand and packaging. Very often we overpay specifically for the packaging and the brand, as this is subconscious advertising of the product, for which the manufacturer spends a lot of money. Remember that your goal is to buy a good and inexpensive product, and the task of marketers is to induce us to spend several times more. Why not try?

The price of the product depends on many factors: manufacturer, quality, brand and packaging.

Very often we overpay specifically for the packaging and brand , as this is subconscious advertising of the product, for which the manufacturer spends a lot of money.

The human brain is arranged in such a way that we tend to choose a product on an unconscious like-dislike level. And, usually, we choose the most beautiful (and most expensive) packaging. And then we read the composition and look at the price .

A product that is in a regular package or simple packaging can very often be of the same quality as a bright and more attractively packaged product, but cost significantly less .

The need to include in the price of the product not only the profit of the seller and the manufacturer, but also the costs of advertising and sales make the product quite expensive. As a result, the consumer is forced to pay for the product 40-50% more than its cost price.

Let's look more broadly

When choosing a product , first look at its price , then at the warehouse, and only then at the packaging.

Unfortunately, the high cost of the product is not a guarantee of quality. Before you throw this or that product in your basket, don't be too lazy to take a good look at all the store shelves: the same product may be standing nearby, but in simple packaging, and it will usually cost much less . After all, we already know that the most expensive and branded goods in stores are always located in the foreground, on easily accessible shelves at eye level.

And products sold by weight cost even less. In addition, in this case, you have the opportunity to pay more attention to the quality of the product itself , and not to the packaging.

Remember that your goal is to buy a good and inexpensive product , and the task of marketers is to induce us to spend several times more.

Why not try to buy the food, not the packaging and the brand .

Do not buy on price and advertising

Very often we deceive ourselves, believing that the expensive price + the popularity of the brand will definitely make the food tastier. Which is confirmed by many studies.

For example, German scientists offered a group of volunteers to taste wines from different glasses, on each of which the price was indicated - from $5 to $30. The participants of the experiment unanimously declared that wine from glasses with a higher price is tastier and better at a cheaper price . In fact, there were only two varieties of wine in all the glasses, which did not differ much in terms of their properties and price . Also, in the course of this experiment, scientists studied the brain activity of volunteers, and noted that when consuming wine with the specified high value, the areas of the brain responsible for pleasure were involved in people.

Actually , supermarket brands

The supermarket's own brands are gaining more and more popularity - a product brand that is presented only in the retail network (for example, "Premiya", which is sold in "Silpo", "Fora" supermarkets). At the moment, almost all major metropolitan and regional chains have their own trademarks .

The network undertakes design development, quality control, marketing and distribution of such a trademark . Usually, the price of such products is 5-25% lower than the price of similar products of a well-known brand .

When and how much can you overpay for a brand

Of course, in some cases, you can overpay for the brand . Although, it is even more correct to say "pay more", since it should be a really justified price and, nevertheless, higher within reasonable limits.

For example, in the case of baby food. Remember that food for a child should be of the highest, tested and reliable quality. Here it is better to choose several proven manufacturers, and not to set up experiments as soon as something cheaper comes along . If there is a new product , you can try it to see if it will work for you and your baby, but carefully, introducing it into the diet in small amounts until you are sure that it will be safe.

Another case when overpayment for a brand is permissible is, for example, a gift. Let's say you want to give someone a bottle of good wine or something. Of course, in such a case, it will be completely inappropriate if your gift does not impress with its quality because you decided that "the wine is good, but very expensive, I will take something cheaper ."
