Probiotics Help Against Intestinal Disorders

Yogurt helps with diarrhea to restore the intestinal flora, but should not be taken all at once.

Probiotics are living microorganisms that, unlike those that cause us infections, contribute to improving the health of the body in general and, in particular, digestion and immunity.

They normally enter our body after birth and gradually become part of the natural intestinal microflora. Their presence is important to prevent the growth of pathogenic microorganisms and protects against infections. However,

beneficial bacteria are not always present in sufficient quantities in the intestinal microflora. Their presence depends a lot on the health condition, eating habits and products we consume.

To help with this balance, the person has selectively taken foods that contain probiotics. Their consumption is recommended to this day for diarrhea and other gastrointestinal problems, as well as for serious and long-term therapies.

Products that contain probiotics, as they are living microorganisms, should be available in stores in refrigerated sectors. In order to preserve and benefit from them, yogurt , buttermilk, kefir, lactic acid desserts, in addition to being stored at home in appropriate conditions, should be consumed raw. Warming, moreover, cooking destroys the probiotics in them.

Yogurt with live yeast is a suitable product for diarrhea, unless the doctor has warned to avoid its consumption due to a specific disease or due to too fragile age in children. The recommendation in this case, however, is to consume not one at a time, but several spoons up to 100 grams per meal and up to half a cup in total per day.

Your doctor will tell you if taking probiotics in the form of supplements is right for your condition. Although considered an anhydrous product, they are not recommended for very young children and severely impaired immunity.
