Many, many fresh vegetables and fruits, restriction of protein and calcium, a minimum of carbohydrates - the basis of a diet for arthritis.
Lots and lots of fresh vegetables and fruits, restriction of protein and calcium, a minimum of carbohydrates are the basis of a diet for arthritis.
Arthritis is an inflammatory disease of a joint (or several joints), and among the main causes of the disease are various infections, injuries, diseases of the nervous system, allergies, metabolic disorders, and lack of vitamins. The disease occurs quite often, moreover, it is not always the case of the elderly (although, of course, they are more often).
Arthritis treatment is a complex of measures that includes medication, mud treatment, hirudotherapy, physiotherapy, and, unfortunately, it often involves surgical intervention. And after all, the disease could be avoided or at least significantly delayed, if you think about its prevention in time, that is, from a young age. And, first of all, this is the right diet. But it is never too late to start, those people who have already been diagnosed with arthritis are recommended to follow a certain diet - in combination with the main treatment, this will significantly reduce joint pain and slow down the progression of this disease.
Struggle with excess weightArthritis has its "favorites", or rather, the "favorites" are obese women who have crossed the 50-year mark. As a rule, most of these ladies suffer from some kind of joint disease - this includes arthritis, arthrosis, gout, etc. It is important to understand that the further progression of these diseases can lead to disability in a short time and, of course, greatly spoil the quality of life, and therefore it is now important to think about weight loss in combination with other medical measures. This not only helps to improve the condition of the joints, but also contributes to the overall health of the body.
It is far from a secret that vegetarians are much less likely to suffer from joint diseases than ardent meat eaters. In addition, diets based on fresh vegetables and fruits containing vegetable fiber contribute to rapid weight loss.
Yes, cabbage of all kinds is recommended for people suffering from arthritis. It contains sulforaphane, a substance that prevents the destruction of cartilage tissue. In this sense, all varieties of cabbage are good, but especially broccoli. Cabbage also contains a record amount of vitamins , micro- and macroelements, and therefore not only helps to avoid pain in the joints, but also strengthens the body's resistance to many diseases. And, by the way, the constant use of cabbage effectively helps to cope with the problem of constipation, if there is one.
In the summer, be sure to eat cherries. These berries contain many antioxidants (anthocyanins), which, thanks to their anti-inflammatory properties, act as pain relievers. Arthritis, arthrosis and even gout can give way to cherries.
Collagen is necessary for building bone and cartilage tissue, muscles and ligaments. You can "find" it in jelly or jelly, which are prepared on the basis of bone broth.
Chondroprotectors are another substance that promotes the restoration of cartilage tissue and improves the production of joint fluid. The pharmacopoeia offers various drugs for the treatment of arthrosis, based on glucosamine and chondroitin sulfate, which belong to the group of chondroprotectors. This substance is also contained in edible gelatin, so do not forget to prepare such a tasty and low-calorie dessert as fruit jelly more often.
Proteins should be treated carefully, for example, it is recommended to exclude red meat completely, but this does not mean at all that you need to switch to a protein-free diet. Proteins are needed for the construction of new tissues and for the restoration of cartilaginous tissue that covers the articular surfaces of bones. "Take" protein from lean white meat and fish, and vegetable from buckwheat porridge and legumes (peas, beans, lentils). By the way, protein is better absorbed if the meat is steamed, stewed or boiled. Dairy products also contribute to the recovery of joints, especially useful "sour milk" - kefir, ryazhanka, cheese.
One of the causes of joint diseases is a violation of metabolic processes, therefore, patients with arthritis need fats. But! These should be fats of vegetable origin, a small amount of butter is also allowed.
B vitamins are necessary for the body - they play an important role in proper metabolism. And with a lack of these vitamins , in addition to arthritis, many other diseases can appear, the cause of which is a disturbed metabolism.
Vitamin D is another important vitamin, its deficiency leads to excessive deposition of calcium in articular cartilage, to a decrease in its elasticity. The result is that the cartilage is gradually destroyed. Fish oil will help fill the lack of this vitamin - it is needed not only by children, but also by adults.
Drink a lot! Water is the basis of any arthritis diet. Dehydration is extremely harmful to our joints, and as they say, do not lead to sin, it is meant that dehydration in the joints occurs much earlier than a person begins to feel thirsty. But you can't abuse the liquid either - an excess of liquid leads to swelling, and this disrupts the blood supply and nutrition of the joints. Therefore, drink a sufficient amount of liquid, but make sure that there is no swelling.
