Raspberries are also a suitable fruit for diabetics because of the low glycemic index
If we have to summarize in one sentence the qualities of raspberries , it will be: low-calorie - 52 kcal, rich in fiber - 6.5 g, only 4.4 g of sugar, full of water - 85.7 g, providing a third of the manganese we need and nearly half of our daily vitamin C needs when consumed in just 100 g.
Raspberries are the fruits with the lowest sugar content, and the fiber in them exceeds the sugars on which the change in blood glucose levels depends. They are considered a suitable fruit for consumption in people who need blood sugar control , as they have a low glycemic index - only 25 and even more with a low glycemic load - only 2, which shows the quantitative and qualitative health ratio of carbohydrates in them relative to blood sugar. They are suitable for diabetes and for inclusion in the menu if you want to reduce weight .
With regard to the content of fats and proteins in fruits and vegetables, with some exceptions, it is almost unnecessary to talk, but still in raspberries, even in minimal amounts of fat. What in this case, it is important to mention that they are just over half a gram and are actually polyunsaturated fatty acids, which makes raspberries, in combination with their fiber, a useful fruit for the cardiovascular system .
According to experts, the nutrients in raspberries improve the endothelium function of blood vessels and reduce the risk of high blood pressure. The main effect of fiber, in addition to the benefits for the digestive system and regular stomach, is that they help reduce the level of bad cholesterol in the blood.
Raspberries are rich in vitamin C and folate, and it is known to reduce oxidative stress, hence the emergence of inflammatory processes, combined with the presence of sodium-balancing potassium, a good "formula" for a healthy heart. Vitamin C is a condition for the synthesis of collagen in the skin and since it "absorbs" the harmful effects of ultraviolet rays, it guarantees its youth for longer.
Folate is also extremely valuable for pregnant women.
Raspberries are from the sources of the natural compound resveratrol - the same thing we comment on the benefits of red wine: obviously, raspberries and wine go away originally. Resveratrol is valuable for bone health, is involved in osteogenesis, ie the formation of new bone tissue. Given the presence of calcium and magnesium, raspberries prove to be a suitable food for the prevention of osteoporosis.
Of all the nutrients in raspberries in general, polyphenols are the leader in terms of antioxidant and anti-inflammatory power. The brighter and darker their color, the more polyphenols in them.
In addition to helping the body clear the bad effects of free radicals, antioxidants , toxins, preventing conditions for cancer cells and wrinkles, are important for normal nervous system function and eye health . The latter is especially helped by lutein and zeaxanthin, which probably have a protective role against age-related macular degeneration.
Raspberries also contain a little vitamin E, vitamin A, carotenes - alpha and beta, B vitamins, vitamin K, iron, phosphorus, zinc, copper, selenium.
We should not forget that both strawberries and raspberries may be allergic to some .
