Regular use of chocolate gives a positive radiance to the person and is related to the health of the elderly.
According to scientists, regular consumption of chocolate not only reduces the waist circumference and gives a positive radiance to the person, but also has a bearing on the health of the elderly. Research shows that older men who eat chocolate are in better physical shape, have optimistic thoughts and feelings about the world, and enjoy life more than their peers, who are deprived of brown pleasure.
These conclusions were reached by a group of Finnish researchers who conducted surveys among 1,367 men with an average age of 76 years. The men were asked how they felt, what thoughts they woke up with early in the morning, what excited and worried them, what was their attitude to life in general. Particular attention was paid to the question of what sweet foods a person prefers. Only 100 of them answered that they do not eat sweet foods at all; 860 of the respondents preferred chocolate, and 399 of the men satisfied their hunger for sweets with other products.
Based on these results, the researchers found that chocolate lovers were weaker, with smaller waist circumferences and suffered less from diabetes and depression than those who consumed other sweet products. In addition, the former were better educated.
However, the biggest difference was in the psychological state and the overall attitude to life. Men who drank chocolate felt happier, less lonely and healthier. They were more inclined to make plans for the future than their peers, who preferred other sweet products.
Scientists link these results to the fact that the use of chocolate leads to the release of endorphins in the human body. These molecules are directly related to the feeling of happiness and satisfaction.
