It is extremely important to carry out prevention. Perhaps the most important tool for this is proper nutrition. Prevention can begin from the birth of the baby. Feeding the mother can significantly reduce the likelihood of rickets in the child. Its menu should be rich in products containing large amounts of vitamin D . Here are some of them:

  • fish - especially sea (salmon, trout, herring, mackerel, sardines);
  • liver - chicken, beef, fish (for example, cod liver);
  • eggs - hens and quails;
  • green spices and plants - parsley, coriander, nettle;
  • vegetables - pumpkin, zucchini;
  • mushrooms - forest (mushrooms);
  • caviar.

The best food for babies is breast milk. If the baby cannot be breastfed for one reason or another, dry mixes are used. In such cases, attention should be paid to the content of vitamin D in them, as well as phosphorus and magnesium.

At a later stage, the baby's diet should include mashed cabbage, pumpkin, zucchini. Crushed chicken liver can be given when meat purees are included. Diversify the menu with cooked white meat.

Walking and sunbathing are also important tools for prevention. Every day the child should be taken out into the fresh air and sunlight for at least 1 - 1.5 hours.
