The Effects Of Coffee In Overconsumption

We usually drink 2-3 cups of coffee a day. Each cup contains between 85-140 mg of caffeine. However, caffeine is a substance that is not harmless. What happens to the body when it is over-consumed?

We usually drink 2-3 cups of coffee a day. Each cup contains between 85-140 mg of caffeine. However, caffeine is a substance that is not harmless. The permissible amount of coffee per day from a health point of view is 1-2 cups. In some health conditions, a hot drink is not recommended at all.

Whether there is a health risk from coffee consumption depends a lot on the individual case. In a healthy body, coffee in acceptable quantities can not harm, on the contrary, will bring some benefits. Research confirms that coffee has a beneficial effect on women by reducing the risk of developing Parkinson's disease. For this purpose, however, one glass of the drink a day is enough. However, the benefit is worthwhile only for those who are not on hormone replacement therapy and do not smoke.

Another study showed that coffee consumption in people who had a heart attack did not affect the frequency of fatalities. There are also no data in non-smokers that coffee affects the incidence of heart disease, as well as breast cancer and colon cancer in women. In older women, on the contrary, there is an improvement in verbal communication skills.

Often, instead of having water on hand, there is a cup of coffee throughout the day. Even if coffee is as "weak" as tea, the option of replacing water with a constant sip of this liquid is not a healthy choice. With such consumption, people often complain of rapid heartbeat, muscle spasms and unexplained fatigue.

Coffee has diuretic properties. Even a cup of coffee affects the frequency of urges for a small need. This in itself is not a problem, but in cases where you do not take enough other fluids, there is a risk of dehydration. Such a risk is also observed in people who exercise. Consumption of more coffee is also associated with increased loss of minerals such as calcium and magnesium. It is no coincidence that overdoses complain of leg cramps.

Consumption of 5 or more cups of coffee a day carries a serious risk of heart failure and high blood pressure. If you are already taking high blood pressure pills, you should know that their intake also has a detrimental effect on the levels of some trace elements in the body, so not resisting the temptation is actually expensive.

Overconsumption of coffee has a fatal effect on the heart health of smokers. There is evidence that it also increases the likelihood of prostate cancer in men.

Recently, restaurants have appeared in Bulgaria, offering a wide selection of coffee specialties. However, in addition to a large amount of caffeine, they also contain too much sugar and other ingredients that often make the drink a high-calorie liquid dessert. Flavorings and aromas are often added to them, which not only additionally load the black liquid with harmful ingredients, but are also a reason for suppressing the action of useful polyphenols in it.

In general, instead of coffee for waking up, a much more effective option is to drink a cup of freshly brewed green tea. This not only improves the ability to concentrate, but also takes a sufficient amount of useful antioxidants.
