Although cucumbers have practically no contraindications for use, there are cases when they cannot be eaten - for example, in case of poisoning. Nutritionist Olha Dekker told about it.
The specialist told the publication "Arguments and facts" who should not eat cucumbers. According to Dekker, an allergy to this vegetable is a good reason to give it up. With increased sensitivity of the body to cucumber substances, itching in the mouth and throat, as well as contact dermatitis and urticaria, may occur.
In addition to allergy sufferers, green vegetables should not be eaten by people suffering from diseases of the gastrointestinal tract in an acute form. Also, those whose pancreas cannot cope with digestion, that is, there are not enough enzymes. Another case is poisoning. With all the listed violations, "raw vegetables and fruits, dairy products are excluded," the expert emphasized.
In addition, cucumbers should not be eaten by people with kidney disease. They are contraindicated in acute and chronic nephritis, exacerbation of chronic renal failure, kidney stone diseases.
Nursing mothers should also avoid the vegetable, otherwise it can cause children's stomach upset and colic.
