They Created A Soup That Satiates For A Long Time

Scientists have developed a soup that leaves the feeling of satiety for a long time and eliminates the need for snacks.

For years, researchers have been looking for a product that leaves the feeling of satiety for hours, eliminating the need for a snack .

Experts have found the answer to this question by creating a soup that contains an ingredient that leaves the feeling of protection for longer.

The liquid dish contains a form of starch that takes longer to be absorbed in the stomach . Early studies on the effect of the dish found that when it is present in the menu, it reduces the consumption of other foods during the day, according to  New Scientist .

Researchers explain that in future weight loss diets , not only the calorie content but also the "saturation factor" of a particular product can be taken into account .

Experts explain that the key ingredient is "resistant starch", which can naturally be found in legumes such as peas, beans and lentils. It can also be formed in starchy foods such as potatoes, pasta and rice when cooked and then chilled.

Resistant starch cannot be broken down in the small intestine, where most digestion takes place . It is absorbed later when it reaches the colon. When finally absorbed, starch releases short-chain fatty acids. At this point, the gut sends a signal to the brain, which is responsible for the feeling of satiety.

Saturating starch also has its potential side effects, including indigestion and flatulence, although they have not been observed so far.

Experts are convinced that the way to fight obesity is in natural, not processed foods.
