Summer is in full swing, but along with all its benefits and pleasures, this season brings with it a number of ailments for our body due to high temperatures. Food is one of the most important factors determining the condition - both physical and mental. That is why we have prepared a list of some basic products that are best not to consume during the summer days to avoid dehydration and to feel refreshed, fresh and energetic.

First, let us remind you that you should not forget about liquids in the heat. Take more of them, relying mostly on clean still water and avoid consuming products that lead to dehydration  or may be associated in some way with heat stroke.

  • We start with meat, eggs and all kinds of foods rich in protein. They satiate hunger, but have the little-known side effect of forcing the body to use more water to get rid of excess nitrogen, which is saturated with protein.

  • Asparagus is even more dangerous in this regard thanks to an amino acid called asparagine, which has a diuretic effect. This property is used in urinary tract infections, but in the summer it is better not to take risks.

  • Coffee and tea - two favorite drinks, which at first glance should not be unsuitable for hot days, because much of their content is water. But the caffeine in a cup of such a drink dehydrates, and this in turn leads to the desire to drink more and more fluids. Here we must give space to the car, which is also included in the list of unsuitable liquids for the summer, also due to the presence of caffeine in it.

  • Alcohol. Although a light alcoholic cocktail, martini and more. it can be a refreshing drink, at the same time it is a strong diuretic. Frequent going to the toilet disrupts the body's moisture reserves and that is why it is possible to wake up in the morning with a headache.
