In this article, learn more about Up To Three Beers A Week Is Healthy. Three beers a week will not harm your health..
Three beers a week will not harm your health, according to a large study in Scotland. The fourth bottle already poses a serious health risk and increases the likelihood of seeking emergency medical care, experts say.
This amount is equivalent to 8 small glasses of concentrated alcohol or 8 glasses of wine a week, so the limit applies to all types of alcohol, not just beer.
The study looked at the habits of 5,772 Scots between the ages of 35 and 64 for 35 years. It has been found that those who regularly drink between 8 and 14 beers a week are twice as likely to seek medical attention for deteriorating health than abstainers or those who reach for a cup less often. Their stay in medical institutions is also longer.
Until now, it was thought that the amount between 14 and 21 beers per week was the maximum allowable from a health point of view. It turns out that the health risks are not less and at a lower level. This requires a correction of the recommendations to society from the highest instance, say Scottish experts.
