It is difficult to overestimate the role and importance of smells. And our sense of smell is able to extract from them considerable benefits for the whole body.

Proponents of aromatherapy claim that it is an excellent natural method of soothing many physical and mental ailments, which has the ability to support and stimulate the body's natural protective reactions. Most of the useful smells were given to man by nature itself, and as Hippocrates said 2.5 thousand years ago, "Medicine is the art of imitating nature itself." It probably makes sense to listen to this inviolable postulate and before trying to get rid of headaches, depression and other ailments with the help of chemistry, try to turn to natural gifts. For this, of course, you need to know what benefits certain smells can bring.

Citrus fruits

Lemon tones the autonomic nervous system, promotes concentration and is an effective remedy against vegeto-vascular dystonia. The aroma of lemon repels viruses, which is especially important during the cold season.

Orange has long been used in medicine, perfumery and cosmetic industry. The main value of pleasant highlights the aroma of orange in the beneficial effect on the psycho-emotional mood of a person, especially women. As a rule, the aroma of orange is part of almost all "sensual" mixtures used in an intimate setting. Among other things, the smell of orange is used to aromatize "working" premises, as it increases work capacity and improves mood.

Grapefruit. It is noted that this citrus aroma balances, develops a philosophical approach to life, facilitates creative perception of information. Therefore, it is useful to keep a cut fresh grapefruit on the desktop from time to time or to light an aroma lamp with grapefruit essential oil.

Medicinal plants

Valeriana. Even in ancient times, valerian was considered one of the most powerful psychotropic agents. At all times, valerian root (it is from it that all the benefits of the plant are extracted) was valued as a medicine that brings peace, complacency and harmony. The aroma of valerian is used for sleep disorders, neuroses, migraines, stress, heart rhythm disorders, tachycardia. But caution should be exercised: in case of an overdose, overexcitation, drowsiness, nausea, heart rhythm disturbances are possible.

The aroma of needles. It has been noticed that the smell of spruce eliminates overstrain, nervousness and depression. Stimulates the immune system and promotes faster recovery after illness. However, during pregnancy and inflammation of the kidneys, coniferous aromatherapy is contraindicated.

Ginger. Recently, a very fashionable fragrance and that's right! The exotic, spicy and bitter aroma of ginger is capable of many things: it eliminates increased fatigue, apathy, lethargy, enhances sociability and charm. Actively resists viruses during flu and SARS epidemics. The smell of ginger promotes faster recovery after operations and illnesses.

Ylang-ylang. One of those aromas that are called aphrodisiacs and it is recommended to aromatize the room with ylang-ylang oil in romantic moments. It is the strongest erotic agent and quickly restores both male and female potency. An excellent antidepressant that increases self-confidence and boosts energy.

Juniper The main purpose of this well-known smell is to disinfect premises, it is also used for inhalation in the treatment of colds.

Mint. One of the most favorite aromas of many and for good reason. The strong aroma of mint is not only able to quickly get rid of bad breath (chewing gums with this aroma are undisputed sales leaders). The aroma of mint has an antispasmodic effect on the blood vessels of the brain, so it is recommended to inhale this smell in case of dizziness, nausea, motion sickness in transport, in case of a violation of the vestibular apparatus.

Rose. The aroma of the royal flower balances behavioral reactions, increases work capacity and eliminates neuroses. Therefore, when there is a need to make a correct and balanced decision - use the abilities of the rose. And even better, start a good tradition of keeping this beautiful flower on your desktop. Both pleasant and useful - especially for choleric patients.

"Delicious" smells

Chocolate. Of course, it rightfully leads the top of the hit parade of "delicious" smells. The taste and aroma of chocolate promotes the formation of endorphins, the so-called "hormones of joy". And they, in turn, will not only provide a good mood, but also help overcome pain. And in the right situation, they increase the erotic mood.

Coffee. Very often, in expensive stores, the aroma of coffee "stands". Have you wondered why? Aroma marketing is one of the components of marketing - it is elegant and provokes purchases. The smell of coffee is not only "invigorating" (everyone knows about this property of coffee), this "expensive aroma" is associated with a certain way of life. Having "sniffed" good coffee, we receive a signal: straighten your shoulders, forget about fatigue, feel like an aristocrat and buy something!

But, when choosing and using this or that fragrance, do not forget about the context: everything has its time, place, situation and even time of year.
