Sugar cookies

Everyone's favorite classic recipe for New Year's cookies is very easy to prepare and allows you to decorate yourself for any taste.

You will need it for cookies
  • 250 g of butter.

  • 150 g of powdered sugar.

  • 1 egg.

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract.

  • 1 tsp almond extract.

  • 625 g of flour.

  • 1 tsp salt

You will need it for the glaze
  • 6 tbsp. soft butter.

  • 750 g of powdered sugar.

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract.

  • 3 tbsp. milk

  • Food coloring of your choice.

Beat soft butter and powdered sugar until fluffy. Add egg and extracts. In a separate bowl, mix the flour and salt, gradually add to the sugar-egg mixture, whisking constantly. Put in the refrigerator for 1-2 hours.

Preheat the oven to 190 degrees. Roll out the dough to a thickness of 4 mm on a floured surface. Cut out cookies using your favorite molds, place on a greased or oiled baking sheet and bake for 7-9 minutes until lightly browned. Cool before frosting.

Prepare the glaze by beating the butter, powdered sugar, vanilla and milk. If desired, you can divide the glaze into several portions and add different food colorings to get the desired colors. Apply the glaze and decorate the cookies to your taste.

Shortbread cookies taste very well with hot winter drinks. And when it is also painted in New Year's colors, it becomes a beautiful accessory for the festive table.

  • 300 g of flour.

  • 3 tbsp. sugar

  • 125 g of butter.

  • 1 tbsp. colored sugar.

Preheat the oven to 170 degrees. Mix flour and sugar in a blender. Add butter and beat until smooth. Transfer the dough to a separate bowl and carefully add the colored sugar, then mix with your hands.

Place the dough on floured parchment paper, roll out into a square and refrigerate for 15 minutes.

Cut the dough into 1 cm squares, place on a baking sheet without greasing it with oil. Bake for 18-20 minutes, cool. Such cookies can be stored at room temperature for 5-7 days.

 

Shortbread cookies with cranberries and white chocolate

  • 80 g of soft butter.

  • 125 g of brown sugar.

  • 80 g of sugar.

  • 1 hard-boiled egg.

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract.

  • 375 g of flour.

  • ½ tsp. salt

  • ½ tsp. of soda

  • 200 g of dried cranberries.

  • 125 g of white chocolate.

Beat butter and sugar until crumbly. Add the egg and vanilla extract. In a separate bowl, mix flour, salt and baking soda, add to the butter mixture. Finally, add the cranberries and chopped white chocolate.

Preheat the oven to 190 degrees. Place the dough in small handfuls on greased parchment paper.

Bake for 8-10 minutes. Cool the cookies on a wire rack.

 

Gingerbread cookies

Another simple recipe for New Year's cookies - famous gingerbread men. Carving them is a lot of fun for the whole family - even the smallest members will find an activity to their liking.

  • 125 g of sugar.

  • 125 g of molasses or molasses.

  • 1 egg.

  • 550 g of flour.

  • 1.5 tsp cinnamon

  • 1 tsp ginger

  • 1 tsp cloves

  • 0.5 tsp salt

  • 0.5 tsp of soda

  • 0.5 tsp nutmeg.

  • 1 tsp baking powder.

Mix the sugar with the egg and molasses to a homogeneous loose mass. In a separate bowl, mix the dry ingredients and, continuing to mix with a mixer, add to the sugar-egg mass. The dough will be soft. Cover it with a film and put it in the refrigerator for an hour.

On a floured surface, roll out the dough to a thickness of 4 mm. Cut out the cookies and place on a greased baking sheet. 

Bake at a temperature of 180 degrees for 8-10 minutes. Cool on a wire rack.
