Researchers at the University of Pennsylvania have found that the techniques used to maintain a weight are different from the ways they help achieve it.
According to them, the key to retaining the desired weight may lie in understanding the difference between the methods for achieving the desired weight and those for maintaining it.
Dr. Christopher Skiamana of Penn State Hershey Medical Center explains that we intuitively believe that the method that led us to the desired weight will also serve to keep the arrow on the scale in the same place.
The researchers analyzed the opinions of 926 overweight people who tried different ways, both to lose weight and not regain it afterwards. One of the interesting findings of the study is the application of various cognitive techniques .
Thoughts alone, however, could not help - they must be combined with a certain diet and exercise . Experts find 2 ways to help maintain weight.
