What Will We Eat In 20 Years?

The restaurant's menu in 2030 may include jellyfish appetizers and main seaweed dishes.

It is very likely that after 10 or 20 years the consumption of meat and dairy products will drop dramatically. But do not grieve for the tender chicken steak, probably in the future there will be individual diets, robot chefs, new vegetables, which will be a great alternative.

From the beginning of the 20th century until now, the food we consume has undergone significant changes. New foods such as chewing gum, candy, energy drinks, fast food, functional foods are entering our daily lives and changing our eating habits.

For the food of the future, it is said that in order to enhance the sensations of eating, food will affect the brain.

What will we eat more?

  • Algae . According to scientists, it will be difficult for humanity to say goodbye to meat, even if we know what harm its production causes to the environment. It is possible to use a healthier alternative.

Algae are such a useful alternative. They are supposed to be the superfood of the future. They are rich in protein and unsaturated fatty acids, contain more calcium than milk, more potassium than bananas and more iron than beef.

  • Jellyfish . All beachgoers hate them. After all, their populations are thriving. They are not threatened by overfishing and their numbers are constantly increasing. Instead of being afraid of them, we can eat them, according to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations.

Jellyfish can be cooked like chips and crispy, but don't expect anything special in taste. It will be necessary to emphasize their flavoring.

What will we eat less?

  • Coffee . Judging by the growing number of cafes and coffee shops, you can hardly assume that it will become a scarce commodity. Climate change and many pests can lead to reduced harvests and coffee prices will soar.
  • Chocolate . West African farmers are suffering from global warming, and land is being devastated by pesticides and old tillage methods. The cocoa harvest is expected to decrease by 1 million tons by 2020. This will certainly affect the prices of the favorite of small adults - chocolate.
