Which Food Will Reduce The Cardiovascular Risk?

Traditionally known food for the Bulgarian can help him support cardiovascular health.

Apparently, it is not by chance that the Bulgarian invented yoghurt. The legend of millennia provides a solution to a common problem among our population. You are probably aware that 65% of us die from cardiovascular disease. We are leading in the black rankings in this ranking in Europe. We Bulgarians are also genetically burdened and, accordingly, much more predisposed to develop cardiovascular disease. And while the population in the south has discovered the health benefits of the so-called. Today, the "Mediterranean diet", it turns out, for Bulgarians yogurt is something like the elixir of health.

A publication in the American Journal of Hypertension points out that regular consumption of yogurt helps reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease in the presence of hypertension. High blood pressure is a direct and major factor in the occurrence of cardiovascular accidents. The conclusion is based on a large-scale study involving 73,000 people, of whom 55,000 women aged 30-55 and 18,000 men aged 40-75.

Data from the study have been collected since 1980, with participants completing a comprehensive questionnaire containing 61 questions about their eating habits. Subsequently, people have regularly provided information on disease-related conditions, including cardiovascular events such as heart attacks and strokes.

For participants with the highest yogurt consumption, the researchers estimated a 30% lower risk of heart attack in women and 19% in men. During the study period, a total of 5,448 cases of heart attack and stroke were registered, 3,300 in women and 2,148 in men.

Those who eat more than two servings of yogurt (2 cups) per week have a 20% lower risk. The reduction in the risk of cardiovascular disease in patients with hypertension was much greater when, in addition to regular consumption of yogurt, people adhered to a specialized diet that supports heart health.

The beneficial effects of yogurt and fermented dairy products are not being discovered now. On the contrary, other small studies provide grounds for conducting this 30-year study, says one of its authors, Justin Bendia. The team now brings out the facts, in black and white, that these products are good for the heart. When the menu is rich enough and useful fiber, obtained from the consumption of fruits, vegetables and whole grains, health care is significant, they added.

According to NSI statistics, we can get a clear idea of the cardiovascular health of Bulgarians. For 2016, the deaths due to diseases of the circulatory system (I00-I99) are respectively: a total of 70,459, men 34,249 and women 36,210, and after the age of 75 the difference in this sex is obviously not in favor of the traditionally gentle.

The overall figure for cardiovascular disease, in general, is many times higher than others. For comparison, the next cause is cancer - 17 294.
