Not accidentally called "white death", it causes destructive damage to the body.
White sugar is undoubtedly one of the greatest enemies of human health. Not accidentally called the "white death ".
Millions of years ago, our ancestors relied on fruits rich in sugar.
The reason is not only in the significant amount of energy they carry. They help store fat, which is essential for survival in adverse living conditions. Those who did not consume enough sugar did not have enough energy to physically withstand the challenges of the day, as well as the ability to reproduce.
The brain has built an interesting survival mechanism - an almost irresistible craving for sweets. Unfortunately, this mechanism today plays a bad joke, as many people consume much larger amounts of sugar than they need too often.
In the first place, sugar is a carrier of the so-called. "Empty calories" from which you fill up without delivering the nutrients your body needs. It does not contain levels of vitamins and minerals, nor fats or proteins. When more than 10% of the calories for the day are from sugar, serious nutritional deficiencies can occur in the body .
When the problem is systemic, there is a risk of heart failure . The high amounts of fructose, which are usually found in artificially sweetened products, lower the levels of "good" cholesterol. This can trigger the formation of triglycerides, which enter the arteries from the liver and thus increase the risk of heart attack or stroke .
Excessive sugar consumption can cause insulin resistance - a springboard to the development of metabolic syndrome and diabetes .
According to a number of scientists, this can also lead to the appearance of various types of cancer . According to research, insulin is directly related to the growth and proliferation of malignant cells. Therefore, elevated blood insulin levels from high sugar intake can contribute to a cancer diagnosis.
A significant problem is the obesity that has become an epidemic , which is far from being limited to a violation of the aesthetic appearance of the body. Overweight is considered one of the leading killers of modern humanity, leading to the development of various chronic diseases.
According to experts, sugar contributes to 35 million deaths worldwide each year and is so dangerous that it is even necessary to control its consumption through legislation, as in the case of cigarettes and alcohol.
Meanwhile, nutritionists are calling for the use of alternative sugar substitutes .
