Its consumption reduces the risk of obesity, respiratory allergies, but also prevents colorectal cancer, prostate cancer and ovarian cancer.

 

Red onions taste like yellow, although they are more fleshy. It is most often used raw and is a perfect addition to salads and potatoes because of its color and taste. It is extremely rich in quercetin, a bioflavonoid that prevents the movement of free radicals. Quercetin has antifungal and antibacterial properties. Red onions are also rich in chromium, which is why they are useful for people who suffer from insulin resistance. It is low in calories, but contains a lot of vitamin C and B6 and protects against colds, viruses, psoriasis and others.

 

Whichever onion we choose - yellow, red or leek, each of them will add an incomparable taste to the dish. Therefore, all three types can be consumed in different cases in order to extract maximum nutrients from them.
