The most famous fact is that you can eat everything, but in moderation!.. Or is it a myth?!..
The most famous fact is that you can eat everything, but in moderation!.. Or is it a myth?!..
The theme of food has always been and will be relevant. Someone is on a diet, someone adheres to certain principles of nutrition. Many try not to eat after six in the evening, being sure that everything will go into fat accumulation and adversely affect the figure.
How many misconceptions and myths about food exist! Let's consider some.
Research by scientists from the University of California disproves this myth.
When cutting products, cracks and scratches form on all boards. Accordingly, the presence of bacteria will be on any surface. But after cleaning the boards by hand, more harmful microorganisms remain on the plastic than on a wooden surface.
The natural properties of wood do not allow bacteria to actively multiply on the surface of the board.
Careful care is needed for a board made of any material, then they will not affect health in any way.
This myth is known to many housewives, and famous chefs do not get tired of repeating it. If we remember the lessons of chemistry, we can refute this myth. Salt does change the boiling point of water, but it takes a lot of salt to change it by a few degrees. As a result, the finished dish prepared using this salt water will become inedible. And the small amount of salt that we add during cooking changes the boiling point of water by only tenths of a degree.
It is highly doubtful that any product has a zero fat content. Excluding only tea and water... Reducing the fat content of products makes the taste of food less intense, and this has to be compensated with the help of artificial flavors and flavors. It really does not benefit the body.
Fat-free foods contain more carbohydrates, which are quickly absorbed by the body, and the feeling of hunger reappears, which leads to the next meal. Therefore, in the end, we eat more calories and because of this, weight gain occurs.
Still, it is necessary to eat foods that contain a normal amount of fat. They are needed for a complete, balanced diet.
By themselves, chicken eggs are very rich in cholesterol. Because of this, a myth arose that their daily use also increases its level in the blood. Eggs are very low in saturated fat, which is responsible for lowering cholesterol levels. And they don't have any trans fats. From the egg yolk, such a small part of cholesterol enters the bloodstream, which cannot significantly exceed its level in the body.
But it is impossible to completely exclude eggs from the diet. They contain a fairly large amount of vitamins and minerals that can only benefit our body.
In cooking, alcohol is used to improve the taste of prepared food and give it a unique aroma, while considering that during cooking, the alcohol will evaporate, but the aroma will remain. But this is not entirely true ... or rather, not at all.
Even if you set fire to alcohol on a dish, its amount will decrease by only 25%. And in order to completely remove traces of alcohol, it is necessary to heat the dish for three hours.
If you hold the finished dish open during the night, then the alcohol will completely evaporate from it.
In general, it is best to be skeptical about any information and double-check everything that you have doubts several times.
And don't forget to listen to your body and common sense.
Be healthy!
